Collectors editions are usually good for people who only want to collect. Very rarely do they go up in value. Even if they do, shipping them which is where you sell most games nowadays usually renders a sale at a loss, or the price too high that no one wants to buy it.
Some do increase in value quite a bit though….sometimes overnight. The last of us collectors edition shot up to over $1000 after the release, but it was a great ce, and the game was instantly well received.
That being said, most of the assassin’s creed games have ce that go down really quick, but they have excellent quality statues in them. I have a nice collection of the statues from last gen, although I backed off buying then this gen
