Daredevil was the first of Netflix’s Marvel shows, and it was important in presenting a darker, more violent side to the Marvel Universe than the one seen on the big screen. The third season arrives on the streaming service next month, and the release date has now been confirmed in a new teaser.
The show will hit Netflix in its entirety on October 12. The typically moody trailer centers around a voiceover from Matt Murdock, with quickly cut footage of Murdock covered in blood, plus a white jacket that presumably belongs to Daredevil’s nemesis Wilson Fisk–aka the Kingpin. The voiceover teases the upcoming confrontation between these two enemies: “There’s only one true way to end evil: to finish it for good. Let the devil out.” Check it out above.
Daredevil stars Charlie Cox in the lead role, with Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Fisk once more. D’Onofrio appeared briefly in Season 2, but the new season looks like it will complete the Daredevil/Kingpin story set up in Season 1. The show also sees the return of Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson.
In related news, it was reported this week that a host of new Marvel shows are in the works. According to Variety, the studio is developing shows for its upcoming streaming platform that will center around Loki and Scarlet Witch, with Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen potentially reprising their roles from Marvel’s movies. Disney’s streaming service is reportedly due to launch at the end of 2019.
