We can’t think of many cars that are as aptly named as the Ferrari 812 Superfast. It’s among the top five quickest rear-wheel-drive cars we’ve ever tested here at Motor Trend, and it’s the quickest front-engine, rear-drive car hands down.
This impressive performance is the work of a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 that makes 780 hp and 530 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed through a smooth-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 812 Superfast is the successor to the F12Berlinetta, which made 731 hp and 508 lb-ft of torque in standard form or 770 hp and 520 lb-ft in a track-focused variant.
In our First Test of the 812 Superfast, we wrote, “Once you’ve had a taste, legal limits will never do. All perception of speed is perverted, such that the car won’t feel fast until you’ve left the double digits well behind.”
