Daewoo Leganza: Italian-German-British luxury at a GM South Korea price

The Daewoo Leganza wasn’t a very good car, and our memories of Leganzas on the street have faded even faster than those of the Hyundai XG. With styling by Giorgetto Giugiaro — who penned the Maserati Ghibli, DeLorean DMC-12, and Hyundai Excel — plus Lotus suspension and alleged German engineering, we found the Leganza driving experience to be pretty miserable back in 2000. This Canadian-market television advertisement shows a painfully elegant and upscale urban couple engaging in a bit of banter as the woman finds herself entranced by the sight of a new Leganza torque-steering its way by outside. Daewoo, that’s who.

Next up is a Leganza advertisement from its South Korean homeland. We get a barely-old-enough-to-drive woman and her puppy, enjoying serious Leganza luxury as a very affordable Bee Gees cover band serenades them.
