“Meanwhile, in 2018, changing discs is an archaic concept.”

If you say so, I and many other people still like owning games and the majority of gamers still buy physical polls show overwhelmingly that people still want to be able to buy discs. I dare Microsoft to announce that Scarlett will be a digital only console.

“Game Pass is the Netflix of video games.”

Ya know except for that other “actual Netflix of gaming” called PSNow that actually has game streaming and downloads for over 700 games.

“It also makes it sound like Xbox is well ahead of PlayStation in the race to bring out its next console.”

That’s definitely not the impression I get. I hear a lot of rumors that PS5 Dev kit’s are in the hands of developers and have been for quite a while. I have also heard that AMD created Navi in partnership with Sony and that Sony many even have some sort of timed exclusivity with the Navi tech.

We can be pretty certain that PS5 is coming before the end of 2020. While I can’t see Microsoft ditching the the X in 2019 with only 2 years on the market after all the R&D and manufacturing costs just to beat Sony by a few months. PS5 has dev kits and credible evidence that AMD has already started making the chips where as all I hear is Phil talking when it comes to Scarlett.

The title should be “Xboxx Scarlett – why the next Xbox is going to be huge if we pretend PlayStation 5 won’t exist next gen.”
