6GB ram smartphones – Samsung, OnePlus, and more

Although we’ve seen a number of phones with 8GB of RAM released in recent times, phones with 6GB of RAM are more common. Paired with a high-end chipset like the Snapdragon 845, these 6GB RAM smartphones are capable of handling just about any task with ease.

If you’re a power user, opting for a phone with 6GB RAM is something you might want to consider. Although even 4GB should get the job done just as well in most cases, having a little extra on board will give you peace of mind if you plan on keeping the device for a longer period of time.

If you don’t know which phones with 6GB RAM are worthy of your hard earned dollars, keep reading. To make your life just a bit easier, we’ve compiled a list of the best 6GB RAM smartphones you can currently buy.

Phones with 6GB RAM – what are your options?

Huawei P20 Pro

The  Huawei P20 Pro is, without a doubt, the best Huawei phone the company has produced so far — and arguably the best Chinese Android phone ever made. It has a 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch on top, which you can turn off in the settings menu.

The Huawei P20 Pro sports a triple-camera setup on the back.

The Huawei P20 Pro is the first smartphone with a rear triple-camera setup. In addition to the 20MP monochrome sensor, the RGB sensor on the Pro goes up to a whopping 40MP and is joined by the third sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens. The Pro also has a five-times hybrid zoom feature.

It’s powered by Huawei’s Kirin 970 processor with a NPU chip that adds AI features, including ones that help improve taking pictures with their impressive cameras. The Huawei P20 Pro launched with a price tag of 900 euros (~$1050) but is now available for 665 euros (~$780). The company also announced a variant of the flagship with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage at IFA 2018, which comes with a leather back and goes for 1,000 euros (~$1,170).

Honor View 10

phones with 6GB RAM

The Honor View 10 packs in a ton of high-end specs despite carrying a mid-range price tag. Besides being one of the phones with 6GB RAM you can purchase, it also has 128GB of storage, a large 5.99-inch 18:9 LCD display, and two rear cameras. One of them is a color 16MP shooter, while the other has a monochrome 20MP sensor — which allows the device to take sharper pictures overall.

The Honor View 10 is powered by the same chipset as the Huawei P20 Pro.

The View 10 is powered by the octa-core Kirin 970 chipset that sports an NPU (Neural Processing Unit), which gives the phone some extra features including better memory management for apps, a way for the phone to automatically set up the right photo mode for images, and more. It also has a large 3,750mAh battery that should be good for up to a full day on a single charge.

Other specs and features include Android 8.0 with Huawei’s EMUI skin on top, a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 13MP selfie snapper. The phone also has a headphone jack on board and doesn’t feature a notch. The View 10 offers great value for money: it launched at $500 and is currently on sale for $430.

Aus Zenfone 5Z

phones with 6GB RAM

Like the OnePlus 6, the Zenfone 5Z also offers great value for money. It features a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display, the Snapdragon 845 chipset, and 6GB of RAM. There are also variants with 4 and 8GB of RAM available, but you can’t get them in the U.S.

The phone supports expandable storage, packs a 3,300mAh battery, and sports a dual-camera setup on the back. There’s also a headphone jack on board (hooray). The only complaint I have about the device is that it looks extremely similar to the iPhone X. This may be good for some, but I generally don’t like it when companies copy competitors instead of coming up with their original ideas.

Now let’s talk price, as that’s one of the reasons why the Zenfone 5Z made it onto our list of the best phones with 6GB RAM. The handset can be yours for just $500, which is a steal if you ask me. This makes it $30 cheaper than the entry-level OnePlus 6.
