Football Manager 2019 Release Date Revealed

The World Cup might be a distant memory, but the regular league season is here, and along with it comes Football Manager 2019’s release date. Developer Sports Interactive has announced this year’s management sim will launch for PC, mobile, and tablets on November 2.

Football Manager Touch and Football Manager Mobile–the tablet and smartphone versions–will also launch on November 2, but there’s no mention of a Nintendo Switch version. Football Manager Touch 2018 came to Switch in April this year.

No new features have yet been revealed–these are coming in “late September”–but Sports Interactive did confirm the game will include the Bundesliga licence for the first time. In addition, the series has received a makeover: the long-running cover star, Manager Man, is gone, and the game’s interface will be “refreshed.”

Those who preorder from a “Sega-approved digital retailer or … from a participating physical retailer” will receive a 10% discount on the launch price. Those who do so digitally will also gain access to a playable beta, which “should be available roughly two weeks prior to the official street date.”

We enjoyed last year’s edition here at GameSpot. Critic Richard Wakeling praised the game’s emphasis on player personalities and morale, as well as its new player animations and increased intelligence. Read more in our full Football Manager 2018 review.
