Kia has released another teaser for its second-generation luxury sedan, called the K900 here and K9 in its home market of South Korea. The new teaser video shows the same profile view we saw before, but does reveal the upcoming sedan’s April 2018 debut date.

The brief teaser video slowly illuminates the rear-drive full-size luxury sedan, which sports a more traditional silhouette than the current model with its slightly raked roofline. Additionally, the headlights look like they’ve got a new LED accent pattern with two strips in the cluster that mimic the taillights’ details within the housing.

Not much else has been released but it’s safe to say that the second-generation Kia K900 will be closely related to the Genesis G90 and come standard with rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive should be optional this time around. Under the hood, the K900 could receive the same engine choices as the G90, which means a base 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6 or an optional 5.0-liter V-8 paired exclusively to a second-gen eight-speed automatic transmission.

Current-generation Kia K900

A full array of driver assistance features should be available on the second-generation K900. The latest version of Kia’s UVO infotainment system should make an appearance but expect the one in the K900 to feature larger screens and displays compared to more mainstream Kia vehicles.

Kia says that the next K900 is a joint effort by its designers in Korea and the U.S., which should be a clue that the K900 will return to this market despite its low sales volume. Production will remain in Korea. Earlier this year, we reported that the new K900 could make its debut at the 2018 New York auto show in late March, but this teaser seems to take that possibility off the table. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the new K900’s debut.
