In the 1960s, the name Yenko was synonymous with high-horsepower Chevys. The trademark for the name of the famed dealership and vehicle tuner has traded hands since then, now owned by Specialty Vehicle Engineering, but you can still count on a ridiculously high output when you see the Yenko badge. The latest creation to bear the name is the 2018 Yenko/SC Silverado, which is rated at a staggering 800 hp. If the brand new 2019 Silverado doesn’t have enough power for you, this may be your truck.
The Yenko/SC Silverado starts with a custom-built 6.8-liter V-8 engine with a forged crankshaft, forged H-beam connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, CNC-ported LT1 cylinder heads, and upgraded fuel injectors. Then, a custom high-output supercharger is added to deliver a total of 800 hp and 750 lb-ft of torque. Custom stainless steel headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and a stainless steel cat-back dual exhaust round out the power mods. The custom truck is based off the lighter standard cab, short box 2018 Silverado model and sports a flat black hood insert, Yenko cowl stripes, special graphics, and side stripes for starters. The Silverado also gets 22-inch wheels, Brembo brakes up front, a custom front sway bar, a lowering kit, Rancho shocks, and plenty of special badging.
Despite all the add-ons and extra doodads, the weight of the truck remains at 7,200 pounds according to SVE.
Black paint is standard, but the trucks can be built in any factory color, provided you can pony up $46,995 for the base package (not including the price of the truck). Add another $2,495 for fancier seats and at least another $995 for custom paint options. Specialty Vehicle Engineering only plans to build 25 Yenko/SC Silverados for 2018, and each will include a numbered plaque proudly displaying the sequence number and power figures, two numbered key fobs, and a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty.
