Thanks to science fiction, there’s a general view that finding alien life would cause the public to break out in a social upheaval. According to scientists, that’s not quite the case.
Michael Varnum, an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Arizona State University, conducted a study to see just how we would react to the discovery of alien life. The results concluded that as long as the discovery is of a primitive form and not a super intelligent being in a spaceship, we would react positively to it.
